- International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict is observed on 19th June every year.
- Objective of this day to raise awareness of the need to put an end to conflict-related sexual violence, to honour the victims and survivors of sexual violence around the world and to pay tribute to all those who have courageously devoted their lives to and lost their lives in standing up for the eradication of these crimes.
- 2019 marks the 10-year anniversary of the establishment of the mandate of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict.

CRPF to launch ‘save environment’ campaign during AmarnathYatra
- In Jammu and Kashmir, the CRPF will launch a ‘save environment’ campaign during the up-coming ShriAmarnathjiYatra in the South Kashmir Himalayas which is starting from Jammu on June 30.
- CRPF has made an appeal to the visiting pilgrims as well as the public in general to play their vital role in preserving the fragile environment.
- To convey the message for saving the environment, CRPF has prepared hoardings and banners and will display these on prominent places along the yatra route.

J&K Govt to open 18 AMRIT stores
- Jammu and Kashmir Government is planning to open 18 AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) stores in all the Medical colleges’ Hospitals and prominently associated hospitals of the State.
- The purpose of the initiative is to provide quality and affordable medicines to the end users.

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare approves Cancer Institute at GMC Jammu
- Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has formally approved 120 crore rupee Cancer Institute at Government Medical College, Jammu for strengthening the tertiary level cancer services in the State.
- Earlier, one State Cancer Institute was approved for Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura in Srinagar for which first grant-in-aid of 47.25 crore rupees.

Maharashtra govt to launch Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme for MSMEs
- State Development Commissioner (Industries) Dr HarshadeepKamble announced that Maharashtra government will soon launch the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
- It will create 10 lakh jobs in the next five years.
- The flagship programme of the Industries Department will have 30 per cent reservation for women entrepreneurs.
- They will set up one lakh units in five years, 40 per cent of them in rural areas.
- This scheme is for promoting entrepreneurship and address unemployment issues.
- The programme will cover manufacturing, service and agro-based activities, including those in retail.
- The nodal bank for the programme will be Corporation Bank and beneficiaries will be financed by nationalised and private Sector banks like Yes Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.

Bangladesh’s first iron ore mine discovered
- Iron ore mine has been discovered at Isabpur village in Dinajpur, Bangladesh for the first time.
- It was announced by Geological Survey of Bangladesh.
- According to the Geological Survey, a 400-foot thick iron layer was found 1,750 feet beneath the surface stretched over an area of 6-10 square kilometres.
- The percentage of iron in the mine was 65 which indicate the high quality of the ore.

RBI fines HDFC Bank Rs 1 Cr
- Reserve Bank of India fined country’s largest private sector lender HDFC Bank Rs 1 Cr for not non-compliance with the central bank’s norms on ‘know your customer (KYC)/anti-money laundering (AML)’ and ‘reporting of frauds’.
