agreement to become the founding member of the China-backed Asian

The AIIB bank aims to aid the infrastructure development in the Asian

The agreement was signed by the Usha Titus, Joint Secretary, Economic
Affairs division of the Union Ministry of Finance on behalf of India at a
special ceremony in Beijing at the Great Hall of the People. - ·
On the Chinese counterpart, the agreement was signed by the China’s Vice
Finance Minister Jin Liqun. He was also the former Vice-President of the Asian
Development Bank and he has been appointed as the Secretary General of AIIB. - ·
The AIIB is in addition to the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and
South Africa) Development Bank formed in 2014. The bank will be based in
Shanghai. It is set to commence its operations with an Indian as its President.

The investment proposal was made by SoftBank Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) Masayoshi Son during his meeting with Union Telecom
Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. During his India visit, Masayoshi Son also met
with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. - ·
Apart from this, SoftBank Group and Snapdeal on 28 October 2014 also
announced definitive agreements under which SoftBank Group will become the

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan
Dung noted that enhancing economic cooperation should be pursued as a strategic

Expressing satisfaction on the steady progress made in enhancing trade
and investment between the countries, both the leaders agreed to take measures
to significantly expand and diversify bilateral commerce for mutually
beneficial results and “agreed to enhance the trade targets to $15 billion
by 2020,” a joint statement issued after the meeting said. - ·
In 2013-14, the two-way commerce between India and Vietnam stood at $8
billion.

performed much better, Bank officials said. India’s ranking originally stood at
134 last year, but was adjusted to 140 to account for fresh data. - ·
In the 2014 report, India had 52.78 points and this year it scored 53.97
points. - ·
The latest ranking, however, does not take into account a slew of
measures taken by the Modi government to make India a business friendly
destination.

The reprimand came when the Union Government informed Supreme Court that

single-largest party BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) for forming the government in

The Supreme Court also mentioned that in a democracy President Rule
cannot go on forever. Currently, Delhi is in its eighth month of President Rule
after the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government headed by Arvind Kejriwal
resigned in February 2014.

Another agreement was signed for the establishment of a cultural
exchange programme for 2015-17 between the Ministry of Culture of both nations.

India also handed over the license between each other for opening a

meeting of the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) which was headed by Defence

Under the deal, India will buy at least 8000 Spike missiles and more
than 300 launchers in a deal worth 32 billion rupees. - ·
Twelve Dornier aircraft will also be bought for the navy and 362
infantry combat vehicles. The council also agreed to go ahead with locally
build six submarines in collaboration with a foreign partner in a project worth
50000 crore rupees. - ·
It also includes acquiring 1768 critical rolling stock – open and closed
wagons for transport of military equipment at a cost of 740 crore rupees. - ·

General of India (AGI) to suggest ways to reform the Indian Easement Act of
1882 and examine the constitutional validity of the Section 60 (b) of the Act.
With this, the Delhi HC begun the exercise independently to zero in on outdated
laws that need to be phased out. - ·
The Indian Easement Act deals with rights conferred on an individual
over land not owned by him, but negotiated through a license agreement. - ·
A Delhi HC bench headed by Justice J R Midha issued notice to the AGI
after settling a property suit between two brothers. While settling the
property suit, the bench raised questions about the Constitutional validity of
section 60 (b) of the Act. Section 60 (b) gives all encompassing powers to a
licensee in a property even though he doesn’t own it. - ·
Justice Midha decided to examine the validity of the Act after it came
to his attention during the hearings on the private suit that Section 60(b) of
the Indian Easement Act, 1882 is heavily tilted against owner of the property.

Czech Republic for saving 669 children from Nazis. - ·
Nicholas also known as the British Schindler organised the
transportation and settlement of 669 children, mostly Jews from German occupied
Czechoslovakia before the Second World War broke out in 1939. He was 29 years
old when he arranged trains to take the children out of occupied Czechoslovakia
and for foster families to meet them in London. - ·
In 2003, Winton received the Pride of Britain Award for Lifetime
Achievement and he was named a British Hero of the Holocaust by the British

instigating violence against the Sikh community during the November 1984 riots. - ·

raising the slogan Khooon Ka Badla Khoon (blood for blood) on 31 October 1984 after then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi
was shot dead by her two Sikh bodyguards. - ·
The US Federal Court has given 21 days to Bachchan to respond to the
charges of human rights violations as per the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
However, if he failed to respond, judgment by default will be entered against
him for relief demanded in the complaint. - ·
The complaint against Amitabh Bachchan was filed by New York-based Sikh
for Justice (SFJ) and two alleged victims Babu Singh Dukhiya and Mohender Singh
of the anti-Sikh riots. - ·
Over the past several years, SFJ has unsuccessfully tried to drag
several Indian leaders to US courts in the alleged human rights violations

as a Soviet Spy by the declassified documents of the National Archives of
Britain. The documents were released on 24 October 2014 under the 30-year-rule. - ·
The declassified documents said that Nambiar, who was a deputy of
freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and was also old friend of Pandit
Jawaharlal Nehru, went to Berlin in 1924 as a journalist and worked with the
Indian communist group, visiting Moscow as a Soviet guest in 1929, the year
when he came under the radar of the British intelligence services.

a specially designed space suit from an altitude of 135908-feet. Baumgartner
created a world record of jumping from 128000 feet on 12 October 2012. - ·
He was carried by a large
balloon filed with 35000 cubic feet of helium from New Mexico to over 40 kilometers
(25 miles) above the earth. After Jumping, he crossed the speed of more than
1300 kilometer per hour, which exceeded the speed of sound, setting off a small
sonic boom, and broke three skydiving records in the process. After starting
his fall, he reached earth within 15 minutes.
