The State Bank of India conducts the SBI PO Exam for the recruitment of Probationary Officers in its branches across the country. The SBI PO 2018 official notification is out and here’s all the details you need to know. Educational Qualification
Adequate number of candidates in each category will be shortlisted by the bank for the main exam.
SBI PO 2018 Mains Exam Pattern
(i) Objective test
Marks: 50 Marks(ii) English Language Descriptive Test: Letter Writing & Essay
Duration: 30 Minutes
Candidates are supposed to clear descriptive test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Note: Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the objective and the descriptive test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category (as decided by the bank) will be called for the Group Exercises and Interview.
Final Selection
The marks obtained in the Main Exam (Objective + Descriptive test) will be added to the marks obtained in Group exercises and Interview to form the final merit list. However, the marks obtained in Preliminary exam will not be added to the final list.
The candidates will have to qualify in both Phase II and III separately to be considered for the final merit list.
SBI PO 2018: Job Responsibilities & Salary
An SBI PO is typically responsible for the below tasks:
- The candidates need to be ‘Graduates’ in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Candidates in their final year/semester of graduation will be required to produce proof of having passed their graduation examination.
- Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.
