Preparation Tips & Strategy for NABARD ESI Paper

Start your preparation by dividing your schedule broadly into two categories: Current Affairs preparation and Static preparation.
  • Pick a topic from the syllabus
  • Read up about it and understand the concept
  • Read important current affairs related to that concept including the facts and figures

ESI Static Preparation tips and strategy

If you had studied Economics and Social studies as part of your graduation, you don’t really need t go through the basics of Economic and Social issues. But, if you think you need to get your fundamentals in place, we suggest you read Economics and Social studies textbooks of NCERT 8th to 12th grade. But do not read these books cover to cover as it will only confuse you. Make sure you do selective reading of the most important topics only. Learn Economic concepts for the static part about Census, Schemes, Social reforms, movements, etc.

Make sure you know the full-forms of schemes and sub-schemes and not only the abbreviated forms. Most of the questions in the exam will contain the abbreviated form only. So it’s important that you know the full-forms of schemes.
We suggest you don’t spend a lot of time on the static part of your preparation. Most of the questions that appeared in the previous years’ Economic and Social issues paper were current affairs based.

NOTE: Having said the above, we suggest you dont entirely base your preparation on previous year ESI paper analysis alone. Use it as a guideline to prepare for this year.

ESI Current affairs Preparation tips and strategy

After analyzing previous year NABARD ESI paper we realized that most of the questions were current affairs based and were published in articles in newspapers like The Hindu and magazines like the Yojana, and reports like Union Budget, Economic Survey and government schemes.

Therefore we suggest you, cover the current affairs based on Economics and Social issues of the past 1 year. Memorize facts, data, figures, like percentages and numbers. The questions will be mostly based on schemes, sub-schemes, banking and social sector, economic sector, etc. Follow news related to these and also follow government notices and annual reports.

We suggest you keep your study material for NABARD ESI minimum. Don’t hoard too many books or practice papers. These will only end up confusing and intimidating you more.

ESI syllabus is vast and can intimidate a lot of people. But, reading books cover to cover to understand the ESI concepts will confuse you further, as you might end up spending time on topics that aren’t even in the syllabus of ESI. Therefore, we suggest you take NABARD Mock Tests to save your time and energy.

Why should you take NABARD Mock Tests?

NABARD mock tests are created by exam toppers and experts from the industry after thorough research and analysis, keeping in mind the latest exam pattern and syllabus of NABARD 2017.
