SBI Associates Clerk 2015 – Interview Experience – RK – Odisha

Date: 22nd  May 2015

Venue: SBI  local head office (1/2km from my
house )

Time: 12pm  Only 1 panel

Reached SBI office at 11:45am. By that time everybody’s
verification was done. So only mine was done . Out of 30 students only 14 came
for interview. Was told that SBI will give lunch but no lunch. Quickly gone to
home had food and came by 1:30pm. I was 6th. Finally my term came at 4:00pm.

Entered and greeted everybody . The chairman (M1) was a
non-odiya , 50+ in age , (M2) ,(M3), (F1) were all 50+.

M1:take the seat.

Me:Thank you sir.

M1: So your father is a retd pol sci prof . Which college?

Me:told

M1: How advertising helps a company?

Me:told, he was satisfied.

M2: if a company spends 200cr in ad for a low cost product ,
how can the company gets benefit and how it is treated in
accounts?

Me: i was silent for some time , but he gave me a hint
,, 

M2: do u know what is deferred revenue expenditure ?

Me: i quickly defined it ,, then he told tujhe
hint diya tu bol diya ,,,,i was bit happy ,,but cannot told its treatment in
accounting.

THEN I COMMITTED THE BIGGEST MISTAKE ,, TOLD THAT I M WEAK
IN ACCOUNTS.

AFTER THAT ACCOUNTS QUESTIONS KE BAARISH SHURU HO GAI.

M3: where is loss shown in balance sheet ?

me:on liabilities side.

M3: le iska accounting ho gaya

me: by this time i though ab to mera ho gaya ,, i m finished
.

M3: what is ponzi scheme ?

me : told ,, gave saradha example

M3: if there is one person with some extra money and he
comes to you and you are a clerk , tells you  that he wants to invest that
money in chit fund . But your banks give high int rate but at a late period .
what you will suggest ?

me: obviously i told save in bank.

M2: you studied B.law?

me:yes

M2: types of mortgages ?

me: told only 1 english mortgage

M2: explain it ?

me: sorry sir unable to recall  

SUDDENLY CHAIRMAN (M1)

M1 : what r the functions of a bank ?

me : told

M1 : how many types of accounts are there
in accounting ?

me: told

M3: how do chit fund operates ?

me: told

then F1 turn

F1: is goodwill assets aur liabilities ?

me: told
F1: advt padhe ho ? how SBI and other banks doing advertising ? 

me:told everything from tv ad to bill boards to computer ,
to mail advertising etc. 

she was satisfied.

F1: recently PM launched some insuarnce schemes ,,throw some
light on it .

me: told about jeevan jyoti and suraksha ,,but gave some
elaboration on suraksha ,, rest she completed it .

F1: tagline of sbi?

me:told

M1: ok sanket you can go 

me:thank you mam and sirs ,,have a good day.

Over all it was an ok interview , most questions were asked
from my graduation and mba subjects . don’t ever say your weakness from your
education  , as i did a gr8 foolishness , be confident and have a smile
