Solution 1:
Answer-a
Let us assume that the sales of each brand in the year 1995 is ‘x’
Sales of ZARA in 2005 = x X 1.2 X 1.25 = 1.5x
Similarly;
DIOR = x X 1.1 X 1.2 = 1.32x
PRADA = x X 1.1 X 1.2 = 1.32x
TOPSHOP = x X 1.1 X 1.3 = 1.43x
H&M = x X 1.1 X 1.1 = 1.21x
So, highest % increase is for ZARA which is 1.5x.

Solution 2:
Answer-c
Let the sales of PRADA in 2000 be 100.
Estimated sales of PRADA in 2010 = 100 X 1.2 X 1.3 = 156.
So, [(156-100)/100] X 100 = 56%

Solution 3:
Answer-e
The question can’t be answered since we don’t have the information about the distribution of the
sales of the 8,08,960 clothes sold in 1995 amongst all the brands mentioned here. Hence, data
inadequate.

Solution 4 :
Answer-a
Sales in 2005 = 40,000
Let the sales in 1995 be ‘x’
x X 1.1 X 1.3 = 40,000
So, x = 27,972 (1995 sales value).
Sales in 2010 = 40,000 X 1.4 = 56,000.
Difference = 56,000 – 27,972 = 28,028.

Solution 5:

Answer-e

Since we don’t have the percentage of sales or distribution of sales among the the given brands ,
we cannot calculate the individual sales value with the help of the growth rates values only.
