Now confirmed news from central minister Nirmala Sitharaman that 41177 vacancies or 5 Percent of total permitted vacancies are vacant in public sector banks. This detail was also released in a written reply of lok sabha. According to the official written data, there are 8 lakhs and above sanctioned posts in Public Sector Banks. For the query on shortage of staff in PSB, central minister Nirmala sitharaman gave the written reply. In that “As on 1.12.2021, there are 8,05,986 sanctioned posts and 41,177 vacant posts in Public Sector Banks,” is mentioned. The vacant positions are splitted across three categories of posts — officer, clerk and sub-staff in 12 PSBs.
Among 12 PSBs State Bank of India has 8,544 vacant posts in which 3,423 for officers and 5,121 vacancies for clerk level. Added to this, Public Sector Banks are taking necessary steps to hire eligible candidates for their vacant positions. Like SBI, Punjab national bank has 6,743. 6,295 vacant positions in the Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank have 5,112 and Bank of India have 4,848.
