I Should

I SHOULD

“You shouldn’t laugh loudly. You are a girl”
“You shouldn’t wear that skirt. You are a girl”
“You shouldn’t eat that. You are fat or else no one will marry you”

From North
pole to south pole every woman must have at least once in a lifetime
encountered this ”You shouldn’t…”. The freedom to live, the freedom to choose,
the freedom to be free isn’t really applicable to you if you belong to the
Female Gender. On the contrary it is a common phenomena to witness women breaking
every stereotype at every field possible.

If there is
a Meryl Steep then there is a Sunita Williams. To every Mary Kom we have a
Marie Curie. It is no longer the era of sitting in the kitchen and chopping
vegetables. It is the era of sitting in the kitchen and chopping vegetables to
cook an extravagant delicacy which can be delivered to offices through Dabbawalas
and earning handsomely enough to carry out your own expenses through the
alignment.

The shift of time has been made where the daughter of the
household is encouraged to achieve her dream of becoming a pilot rather than
forcing her to marry a supposed suitable groom. This is an era of becoming a
good responsible mother who is equipped with all the skills to run the
household both financially as well as emotionally. If Arundhati Bhattacharya or
Usha Sangwan would have been stopped from working I am sure SBI or LIC wouldn’t
have been what it is today.
Despite the
society redefining the status of women, the cases of women being mistreated are
more than few. Rape, molestation, dowry, illiteracy are part and parcel of a
newspaper headline. A lot has been said, very little has been done to eradicate
the social evils. The evil can be killed if and only if a person wants to kill
it. Before it engulfs the entire human race we as women have to stand up for
ourselves.

Instances of
women going against the obtuse norms to establish themselves are numerous.
Regardless of being aware of people struggling everyday from every path of life
it will be rather absurd if one gives up on their dream or aspirations.  The country needs us. We can be an economy
booster. Each of us is brimmed with talent and enthusiasm and if it is not
utilized the entire life sums up to nothing. Think about your mother. It is
very rare to find your mother incapable of completing a task. She endures a
never say die spirit which if being incorporated we can achieve zenith success.
Stand up
woman Stand up! Stand up for your aspirations, for your Rights, for your
Opinions, for your Nation and mostly FOR YOURSELF.
So, ladies
the journey will have hurdles at every point but the determination and
dedication will keep you going. Next time someone tells you that you should
not, show the person why and how you should. Wear the smile and face the impediment
with confidence. Nothing in this big bad world can bring you down. You are here
to Rise above all. You are here to Stay because you are a Warrior. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.
