Hello and welcome to ExamPundit. A lot of people have mailed us asking about How to write a perfect précis in the upcoming banking and insurance exams in 2015. So we are giving a easy strategy and some insights on a perfect précis writing.
The French gave it the name ‘précis’ — the pruning away of all that is inessential.
Sign of a good Précis is marked by clarity, brevity and precision. While writing it you must
remember you should not just take some sentences from the original and paste it. It should be
written in your own words but without your opinion.

A précis is usually reduced
to at least one–fourth of its original length and frequently much more. How long it is will be determined
by its purpose and by the nature of the original. A précis is written in the
reporting speech.
