Solutions 1-5 – Total athletes = 200
60 + 20 + 30 + 15 + 10 + x + 50 = 200
or x = 200 – 185 = 15
Number shown in box is number of female athletes in that section and the number outside the box is number of total athletes (Male + Female)
Solutions 6-12:
6. 240000 x 18% x 1/6 x 45
= 324000
So, 3.24 Lakh
Note: 16 2/3% = 1/6
7. 300 × (18% + 15 %) : 240 (18% + 15 %)
= 30 : 24 = 5 : 4
8. Exported grapes in 2008 = 200 x 20% x 1/2 = 20 tonnes
Per tonnes price = 1.4/20 = 140000/20 = 7000.
9. 400 x 80/100 x 25/100 = 80 tonnes
10. 300 × 15% : 400 × 75 % × 18% = 4500 : 4 × 75 × 18
= 300 : 4 × 5 × 18 —15 : 18
So, 5 : 6
11. (400 – 300) = 100
So 100/300 x 100 = 33.33%
12. 300 × 45 % – 200 × 33% = 135 – 66 = 69 tonnes
