Union Home Minister inaugurates I4C & National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal
- Union Home Minister has inaugurated the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) located in New Delhi.
- The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal is a citizen-centric vision which enables people to report cybercrimes online.
- The NCCRP will also provide access to cybercrime-related complaints to the law enforcement agencies of the states and union territories to take action according to the law.
- It will also increase the coordination among the law enforcement agencies of the states and union territories in the investigation of cases and resolving them.
- Presently, 3900 police stations and 700 police districts have been linked with the portal “cybercrime.gov.in”.
National Youth Festival 2020 to be held in Lucknow
- The 23rd National Youth Festival (NYF) 2020 has been scheduled to be held from 12-16 January at Indira Pratishthan, Lucknow.
- The festival will be jointly inaugurated by Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Kiren Rijiju.
- The NYF 2020 is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and State Government of Uttar Pradesh.
- The theme of the 23rd National Youth Festival 2020 is FIT YOUTH FIT INDIA.

AP govt. launched Amma Vodi scheme to support low-income families
- The Andhra Pradesh State government launched the Amma Vodi scheme.
- It was launched by the Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on 9 January 2020.
- Amma Vodi can be translated as ‘mother’s lap’ in Telugu. The scheme will be implemented on 26 January 2020.
- Amma Vodi scheme aims to support low-income families in educating their children.
- Under the scheme, mothers and guardians of school-going children from lower-income groups will receive financial assistance of Rs.15,000 annually.
- The scheme will be available to ration cardholders, who fall under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) and clear a few more criteria related to their economic status.
- The state government has allocated a budget of around Rs.6,455 crore for 2019-20 under the scheme.
- The fund nearly 20% of the total education budget of Rs.32,618 crore of the state.

GAIC launched imported water-soluble fertilizers in Gujarat
- Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation (GAIC) launched imported water-soluble fertilizers in Ahmedabad. The move aims to encourage the use of high-grade agri-inputs in the state.
- GAIC promotes agro-based industries in Gujarat.
- It imported 300 tonnes of water-soluble fertilizers from China.
- In this move, the role of GAIC will be to import, pack and sell the imported water-soluble fertilizers to the farmers through its network of dealers across the State.
- The new-generation fertilizers/water-soluble fertilizers will be sold in the market under its brand ‘AGRO’.
- The water-soluble fertilizers that were launched include, AGRO NPK, AGRO CN, AGRO MKP, AGRO MAP, AGRO SOP, AGRO NOP.

- The International Energy Agency (IEA) along with the country’s policy think tank NITI Aayog released the first in-depth review of India’s energy policies on 10 January 2020.
- The review aims to set out a range of recommendations in each energy policy area.
- The IEA regularly releases energy policy reviews for its member and association countries.
- For the first time, it has carried out the review for India.

Union Government unveils State Energy Efficiency Index 2019
- The Union Government has released the “State Energy Efficiency Index 2019”.
- The index was released during the ‘Review, Planning and Monitoring (RPM)’ meeting held in New Delhi.
- The index is developed by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) along with Alliance for an Energy-Efficient Economy (AEEE).
- The SEE Index 2019 traces the expansion and achievements of Energy Efficiency (EE) drives running in 36 states and union territories.
- The SEE Index 2019 constitutes quantitative, qualitative and outcome-based 97 indicators
- State Energy Efficiency Index 2019 has divided States/UTs into 4 groups on the basis of Total Primary Energy Supply (TPES).
- The 4 groups are: ‘Front Runner’, ‘Achiever’, ‘Contender’ and ‘Aspirant’.
- The State Energy Efficiency Index 2019 was topped by Haryana, Karnataka and Kerala while Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand and Rajasthan performed worst in their respective groups.
- The states of Haryana, Karnataka and Kerala were in “Achiever” group and there was not a single state in the “Front Runner” group.

- The longest-serving ruler of Oman Sultan Qaboos bin Said passed away.
