What to study for IBPS PO 2014 – After Exam Analaysis

Hello and welcome to ExamPundit. IBPS PO 2014 has begun and every aspirants who will be giving exams from 18th October should read this. We are going to tell you what and how to study for the remaining IBPS PO 2014 Exam.



English Language: 40 Questions of 40 Marks


Analysis: According to 11th and 12th October Examination candidates, the English was moderately easier than expected. Some people though claimed it was tough but mostly conveyed a sign of relief while describing english section. Students also claimed that the passage was too lengthy which consumed a large amount of time. To be frank, a passage has to be lengthy otherwise, it won’t be a passage, people who often read books and newspapers won’t find any trouble with the passage reading. So apart from all these, English was easier than expected.


Verdict: You can’t expect English to be tougher than previous year however it can be moderately above the level of 11-12 October examinations. So, all you need to do for the remaining time is just concentrate on the basics and read passages as much as possible to increase the speed of your reading.


Target: The target score shall be minimum of 30 in English Language. Try to score most from Passage, Errors and Cloze Tests.




Reasoning Ability: 50 Questions of 50 Marks


Analysis: The students have already described that the reasoning was way more tough and time consuming than previous year. With no common reasoning questions it riddled many of the students. Seating Arrangements had uncommon patterns such as Square Box, Tables with facing both ways. Apart from Seating Arrangements, Puzzles and Odd Man Out were also less common than we see in the reasoning books. Judging from all the students we can say that the Reasoning was really tough and time consuming.


Verdict: As we know, reasoning was tough, we can easily assume it to be the same in the remaining part of the exam. You need to focus on various uncommon types of Seating Arrangements, Puzzles, Odd Man Out and focus really tough Statement and Conclusions.


Target: The target score shall be minimum of 20 Marks in Reasoning. Keep calm while solving the questions and if you can, give yourself 30 minutes a day for Yoga.


Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Questions of 50 Marks


Analysis: According the students, the quantitative aptitude was rather time consuming than being tough. Most of the students claimed to face way more lengthy questions in the exam. The Data Interpretations came in a large number (varying from 5-6) which were too lengthy and confusing. Except these, there are no such points claimed from the previous exam.


Verdict: Due to the lengthiness it has turned out to be very much time consuming so it is recommended to practice time management while solving. Learn how to solve the sums quickly and accurately. No need to panic, just keep yourself calm and manage the time. For DI you need to solve some SBI PO standard DI to boost up your confidence. Don’t worry DI won’t be as tough as SBI PO however it can be Lengthy.


Target: The target score will be depending on each individual. People who can solve fast can easily target, 40 else at least 35 shall be targetted. Just manage time and you will succeed.


General Awareness: 40 Questions of 40 Marks


Analysis: According to the Questions asked in the questions, 90% came from our Magazine. General awareness was reportedly way more easier than expected.


Verdict: Just read through our Magazine and read some banking terms. Don’t pressurize yourself. You can also look through the questions asked in SBI Clerk and IBPS RRB 2014.


Target: The minimum target score shall be 30 for General Awareness. As we said, banking terms and financial news from the magazine will be sufficient.


Computer Knowledge: 20 Questions of 20 Marks


Analysis: The computer questions reportedly were very easy and basic. Only a puny amount of aspirants felt it confusing.


Verdict: Don’t expect the computer questions to be easier or as easy as the previous dates because prevention is better than cure. So just read through basic and little in-depth. Not needed to go through books and capsules and other stuffs to pressurize yourself.


Target: The target marks should be 10 for Computer knowledge and 15 for people with Computer study background. Just follow these questions : CLICK HERE – these are more than sufficient.




Final VERDICT with Total Target:


Don’t expect it to be hard or too easy, just follow the basics believe in yourself and keep yourself calm. Calmness is the key to solve many things in life.


The total Target shall be : 30 English + 20 Reasoning + 35 Maths + 30 General Awareness + 10 (for Non-Computer Background) or 15 (For Computer Background)


Total = 125 ( for Non Computer Background)
130 (For Computer Background)
