Definition: an arrival or entry of large numbers of people or things.

Example: “a massive influx of tourists”

Synonyms: inundation, inrush, rush, stream, flood, incursion

 

Unravel

verb

Definition: investigate and solve or explain (something complicated or puzzling).

Example: “they were attempting to unravel the cause of death”

Synonyms: solve, resolve, work out, clear up, puzzle out, find an answer to

 

 

Grapple

verb

Definition: engage in a close fight or struggle without weapons; wrestle.

Example: “passers-by grappled with the man after the knife attack”

Synonyms: wrestle, struggle, tussle

 

 

Archipelago

noun

Definition: an extensive group of islands.

Example: “the Indonesian archipelago”
