Puzzle 1:
Eight persons Q. F. Y. A. U, N, G
and — are sitting around a square table in such a way that four of them who sit
at the corner, are facing towards the centre and other four who sit in the
middle of each row, are facing outside the c entre. Each person has different
lucky numbers — 11, 12, 13, 14. 15: 16: 17 and 13 but the sequence of persons
and lucky numbers are not necessarily in the same order. A’s daughter’s lucky
number is 11. Only one person is sitting between O and N. T ‘s brother A. sits
on the immediate left of his mother whose lucky number is 16. O is the father
of G. Only one person sits between T’s mother and U. U sits on the immediate
right of the person whose lucky number is 1.2. No female is an immediate
neighbour of F who sits at the comer of the table. A’s daughter sits second to
the right of N and on the immediate left of that person whose lucky number is
13. F sits second to the left of T ‘s husband whose lucky number is neither 14
nor 17. N, who is sister of G. her lucky number is 17 and is not an immediate
neighbour of T’s husband. Only one person sits between T and G. G sits second
to the right of the person whose lucky number is 13. G is father of Y and not
an immediate neighbour of U. Y is not married to T.
Puzzle 2:
Five persons W, K, R, T and M are
working overtime only on one of the days from Monday to Saturday with one of
the days being a holiday. The over time work done on the previous day of the
holiday was by R. K worked over time the next day after the holiday. There was
a two day’s gap between the days on which W and K worked over time. W worked
over time the next day of the over time of T. R and M did not work over time on
the first day.

  1. P, Q, R, S,T,
    U, V and W are eight friends each having a different weight.
  2. S is lighter
    than P but heavier than V.
  3. T is heavier
    than W but lighter than R.
  4. Q is lighter
    than S but heavier than U.
  5. R is lighter
    than V.
  6. V is not as
    heavy as U.
