SSC Chairman Responds to CBI enquiry demand

Hello and welcome to exampundit. SSC has just updated a notice from the Chairman’s Desk regarding the Cancellation of SSC CGL Tier II and CBI Enquiry.

They stated

In continuation with the earlier discussions held with the protesting candidates of CGLE 2017, a delegation of the candidates met with the Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Personnel, Pension and Public Grievances today at 3.30 PM at his residence. The undersigned was also summoned by the Hon’ble Minister to attend the said meeting. After hearing the delegation, it was directed by the Hon’ble Minister that though the Paper-I of 21.2.2018 was cancelled by the Staff Selection Commission on account of technical issues, to enquire into the allegation of leakage of this cancelled paper, the evidence being provided by the candidates be taken on record and if found substantiated, the matter will be referred to CBI for further enquiry. Else, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police which is already seized of the matter upon a referral by Staff Selection Commission, shall complete its enquiry in a time bound manner and submit its report for further necessary action.

Following this meeting, at the residence of Hon’ble Minister, after detailed discussions with the protesting delegation, it was decided that to ensure legal sanctity of the digital evidence concerning the question paper alleged to have been leaked (which was essentially withdrawn and cancelled on technical grounds), the downloading and printing of the same will take place at the Central Server of the Service Provider of the Staff Selection Commission by requisitioning forensic experts of CFSL, CBI in presence of the witnesses of the delegation. Since the Central Server of the Service Provider is located at Chennai, therefore, this activity shall be initiated on the next working day i.e. 5 th March 2018.
