Hello and welcome to exampundit. In a surprising move after that mammoth cut-off SSC has increased the number of total vacancies to almost double.
Previously SSC had the total number of vacancies (declared on 18 May, 2017) 4733 and now they have updated the total number of vacancies to 8089.

This is quite disappointing as there has been a lot of students who got rejected in the tier I and after that they increased the total vacancies.
