SBI Associates PO 9 November Exam Review

Hello and welcome to ExamPundit. Thanks to our precious group member Beryl Bhattacharyya for sharing her experience of SBI Associate PO Examination. She gave exam on 9 November, 2014, Afternoon Shift:

Beryl Bhattacharyya’s Review

Data Analysis and Interpretation : questions were neither too tough nor easy, just a bit complicated type, graphs, pie-charts and stuff like that; so I guess you would be wise to practise DI a lot, putting a little stress on questions like speed-distance-time questions where you are asked to whether both the statements (I n II) are needed to solve the question (what’s the speed of the stream, i) speed of boat in still water is given, ii) distance and total time taken are given). Hope you got the idea.

Reasoning : the usual kind, complicated but not too tough…straight n circular sitting arrangements, buildings and floors, input-output etc.
General Awareness : this was a shock, well, atleast partly. marketing-computer-GK more or less same number of questions. Study GK atleast from March-April, will come in handy. Noble prizes and other pdfs, provided by our admin, go through that stuff thoroughly, as headlines aren’t going to help, you must read all, questions tend to come from unexpected quarters.

English : very complicated and lengthy passages on subjects that go tangentially over the reader’s head, 3 of them infact. Usual set of questions, sentence rearrangement, spotting errors etc. The more you practise.

Descriptive Paper : Letter writing topics (formal), to the bank manager about unblocking your Debit card/ to the editor about something on allocation of funds (150 words, 10 marks), a paragraph on problems of nuclear family and 2 more topics(150 words, 8 marks), essay on stuff like merits and demerits of the system of self-attestation of documents(250 words, 12 marks), a comprehension (10 marks) and a precis(150 words, 10 marks). Bad news is that you’ve to write all the questions in this paper, leading to loss of precious time.

This will Help you to have a clear idea on the upcoming examinations.

Regards,
