Solutions:

1. Total discount=10+5-(10×5/100)=14.5%

SP+SP(5/100)= 718.2

=>105 SP/100=718.2

SP=684
MP=684/(100-14.5)  x100=800

2. Actual price of mixture=41.04/1.08= 38

Amount of sugar added of 2nd quality = (24×3)/4=18kg

3. Let distance=d
Speed of the current =x kmph
Given d/[(35/3)-x]=6d/[35/3)+x] Or 70-6x=(35/3)+x
=>7x=175/3
=>x=25/3=8 1/3 kmph

4. Let the age of Akhil and Anil be 7x and 9x
Amit ‘s age=(7x+2+9x+2)/2=8x+2
Given (8x+2)/(9x+4)=6/7
=>x=7
Akhil=35
Amit=42
Anil=45
Required ratio=(35+4)/42=39/42=13:14

5. Given ratio=7/2:4/3:6/5=105 : 40 : 36
Ratio of investments (i.e. ratio of profit) =
[105×4 + (150 % of 105) × 8] : (40 × 12) :  ( 36 × 12)= 1680 : 480 : 432 = 35 : 10 : 9
=> Dheeraj’s share in the profit=9/(35+10+9)   x43200= 7200

6. Let, the distance = 60 km.
When speed is 90 km/hr. the time taken =60/90 h = 40 minutes
When speed is 75 km/hr. the time taken = 60/75=48 minutes
Stoppage=4840=8 minutes

7. 2/(9*8*7)=2/504=1/252

8. 2*64*x/(64+x)=56
=>x=(64*56)/72=49.77 kmph

9. sum =882/(1+5/100) + 882/(1+5/100)^2
=882/(105/100) + 882/(105/100)^2
 =882/(21/20) + 882/ (21/20)^2 =1640

10. 1-[(1/7)+(1/3)]=1-(10/21)=11/21
