(a) 18 kg
(b) 32 kg
(c) 16 kg
(d) 28 kg
(e) None of these
10. A man can row 11 2/3
kmph in still water and finds that it takes six times more to row up than to
row down the same distance in the
river. What is the speed of the current?
kmph in still water and finds that it takes six times more to row up than to
row down the same distance in the
river. What is the speed of the current?
(a) 7 2/3kmph
(b) 5 1/3kmph
(c) 5 2/3kmph
(d) 8 1/3kmph
(e) None of these
Solutions:
1. TOTAL NO. OF STUDENTS PASSED IN BOTH SUBJECTS= 100-
(44+36-18) = 38
(44+36-18) = 38
TOTAL PASSED IN SUBJECT A = 56
TOTAL PASSED SUBJECT B= 64
PASSED ONLY A = 56-38= 18
PASSED ONLY B= 64-38=26
SO 18+26= 44 = PASSED IN ONLY ONE SUBJECT
44% = 352
=> 18% = 352/44 *18 = 144
2. Total discount, –10 –5 + 10 x 5/100
= 14.5%
SP+SP x 5/100 = 718.2
so, 105/100 x SP = 718.2
So, Selling Price = 684
3. Mandar ka ek din ka kaam arun aur ravi k ek din k kaam ka
40% h
40% h
then
1/60 = 40/100 * AR/(A+R)
here R is no . of days required by R to do work
similarly A.
now A is 1/3 efficient of R. Then no. of days required by A
will be 3 times of R
will be 3 times of R
putting A=3R in above equation
we can get R=32
Now Mandar and Ravi will do complete work in 60*32/(60+32)
hence D option is correct.
4. Let the ages of A and C be 7x and 9x
B = 7x + 2 + 9x + 2 / 2 = 8x + 2
Given, 8x + 2 / 9x + 4 = 6 /7
So x = 5
So, A = 35
B = 42
C = 45
So…35+4/42 = 39/42 = 13:14
5. Let the unit digit be y and ten digit be x
Then,
y = 2 x – 1 …………. (I)
Difference = 10 y + x – (10 x + y)
= 9 y – 9x
Now, 9 (y – x) = 10x + y + 7 / 2
or, 17 y – 28 x = 7 …………………………….. (II)
Solving (I) & (II) x = 4, y = 7
Number = 47
Sum = 4 + 7 = 11
6. spirit left/water left= 27/37
spirit left/(spirit left +water)=27/(37+27)=27/64
As the operation is performed 3 times ,
then (total spirit-7/total spirit)^3= 27/64= (3/4)^3
=3/4=4-1/4
=3/4=4-1/4
so initially spirit=4*7=28
7. 300% increase in = 24 years
In one year = 300/24
= 12.5%
So Rate of interest = 12.5
CI= (8500(1+25/2*100)/2-1)
So CI = 2257.6
8. Area of the square = 64 m2
Side = 8
Length of the wire = 8×4 = 32
Perimeter of the rectangle = 32
Let Length be b. Then, 2(a + b) = 32 and breadth – a
So, a + b = 16
Now,
or, a + 5/3a = 16
8a/3 = 16
a = 6
So Length = 5/3 x 6 = 10mt.
9. Actual price of the mixture = 41.04/1.08 = 38
So, 4:3
Amount of sugar of second quality added = 24*3/4 = 18
10. Let the distance be d
Speed of the current = x km/ph
d/35/3-x = 6d/35/3+x
or, 70-6x =35/3+x
or, 7x = 175/3
so x = 25/3 = 8 1/3 kmh
