Each candidate will have to secure a minimum score on each
of the tests as well as on the Total to be considered to be shortlisted for
Main Examination.
THERE WILL BE PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWER MARKED BYYOU IN THE
OBJECTIVE TESTS. There are five alternatives in every question of a test. For
each question for which a wrong answer has been given by you, one-fourth or
0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. If a
question is left blank i.e. no answer is given by you there will be no penalty
for that question.
Quantitative Aptitude:
Expect Quantitative Aptitude to be Moderate to Tough. Tough
as in calculative and complex in nature. Aspirants practicing a lot of
Calculations including Simplifications and Approximations will definitely have
an advantage. You need to practice a lot of Simplifications, Approximations for
the Prelims. On the other hand do practice Number Series, Quadratic Equations.
Profit and Loss, Average, Simple and Compound Interest and all
the Common chapters are very important for the IBPS PO Prelims. So make sure
you have done all the homework.
Do practice Data Interpretations which are based on Profit
& Loss, Import and Export and Other Important topics.
English Language:
For English you need to focus on Grammar. A lot of Grammar
and Vocabulary. A lot of candidates tend to skip or avoid the comprehension to
save time, but you must know that Comprehension can fetch a good amount of
numbers. So try to attempt the comprehension in the Prelims exam. On the other
hand, do practice Sentence Improvement and Fill in the Blanks. Cloze test can
be simple yet having a little bit of grammar, so make sure you are practicing
them regularly.
Expect English to be Moderate to Normal Standard. Do focus
on grammar as we said earlier.
Reasoning Ability:
Reasoning can be Moderate, so make sure you are practicing
on a regular basis. Syllogisms, Inequalities and Puzzles can be tricky and
little bit on the tougher side. So practice them and try to maintain your speed
in a stable manner. Also, make sure you are practicing a lot of Coding and
Decoding, Direction Tests, Blood Relation Test and All the common topics.
The bottom-line is: Expect the Prelims to be Moderate in
level all over and practice a lot of calculations. On the other hand, make sure
you have a proper time-management strategy.
Try to attempt the question which you are sure about. Don’t
think about Cut-off and Aftermath of the Prelims. Just Focus on the Prelims and
You will surely succeed.
All the best. Study Hard. May the Force be With You.
