International Firefighter’s Day:

  • Firefighter’s Day is celebrated on 4 May because it is also Saint Florian’s Day.
  • Saint Florian (Christian holy man) was an officer of the Roman army, who saved many lives.
  • It is celebrated to support the lives lost and dedicated fire fighters who risk their lives.
  • One of the most significant symbols of International Firefighters’ Day is the red and blue ribbon.
