English: Very Easy
Right after the infamous IBPS PO English, this time aspirants did not face any difficulty. The overall English was extremely easy. One could easily attempt a good number of questions since all of the questions were old pattern.
Questions came from:
- Parajumble – Story based.
- Comprehension – Story based. – 5
- Vocabulary – 5 – Word Replacement
- Error Correction – Old Pattern
- Cloze Test – Old Pattern
Quantitative Aptitude: Moderate
There were questions from Data Interpretation, Approximation, Number Series, Average, Profit & Loss in Quantitative Aptitude. There was NO quadratic equation problem in LIC HFL Assistant 2017.
The word problems were quite difficult in terms of calculations. One had to spend a lot of time calculating the word problems.

Reasoning: Easy-Moderate
Reasoning was doable if you compare it with IBPS or SBI. However, some of the questions were moderate. The puzzles, however, were easy to solve. One with moderate hold in Reasoning could easily attempt.
Types of Questions came:
- Seating Arrangement
- Linear Arrangement
- Puzzle 7 days, 7 cities, 7 functions.
- Syllogisms
- Alphanumerical
- Reasoning Based Series
- 5 numbers 3 digits replacing problems.
- Inequalities
General Awareness: Moderate
The General Awareness section had plenty of Stock GK questions along with September, 2017 Current Affairs questions. The GA paper also had in-depth Insurance Awareness questions. Most of the GA Questions related to Current Affairs were indirect.

- Chairman of GST Committee on Exports – Hasmukh Adhia
- Who won the Korea Open Superseries title? – PV Sindhu
- Airtel launched in Bengaluru – 5G Tech
The average attempt in today’s LIC HF Assistant Exam has been around 170 to 182.
