UP govt launches toll-free CM helpline 1076

  • In Uttar Pradesh, the State government launched a toll-free Chief Minister helpline 1076.
  • It will enable people from across the state to register their complaints and will ensure a time-bound action on the complaints also.
  • CM helpline number 1076 will work 24×7 and anyone from any part of the state can call on this number anytime.
  • The 500-seater call centre has been established for the helpline and it has the capacity to handle 80,000 inbound and 55,000 outbound calls on a daily basis.
  • When the complainant calls the helpline, he/she will get an SMS informing that the complaint has been sent to the department concerned.

India’s first Design Development Centre named ‘Fashion Nova’launched in Surat, Gujarat

  • ‘Fashion Nova’, India’s first Design Development Center launched in the Textile city Surat, Gujarat.

  • The fair will focus on textiles, Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), Health and hospitality, Trade and Marketing and Credit Services and Finance.
  • The 3-day Trade Fair is aimed at promoting cooperative trade within India and abroad which will lead to enhanced rural and farm prosperity.

Under Digi Yatra Policy, Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is set to launch the face-recognition facility

  • For the first time in India Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is set to launch the face-recognition facility under the Centre’s Digi Yatra Policy.
  • The face-recognition technology will remove the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) physically checking passengers’ government issued identification documents at the airport entrance.
  • This facility will also mean passengers may not have to show travel documents, boarding pass and identity proof at checkpoints.
  • This Digi Yatra Policy is introduced by Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Working Procedure-

  • Initially, the passengers should submit the documents and then a face-recognition camera will capture the image of your face.
  • The image along with the details of the documents will be stored in a database.
  • The passengers will be provided aunique Digi Yatra ID.
  • The passengers, then, should go through the security check points at the airport by just looking into the camera to record and identify themselves via biometrics.

Hong Kong govt approves over $9 million for cyclone-hit Odisha

  • The Hong Kong government has approved over $9 million for relief and rehabilitation work in cyclone-hit Odisha.
  • This grant will benefit around 45,100 victims of Fani cyclone.
  • It will be used to provide hygiene kits, kitchen kits, water, education, household items and shelter kits.

Centre signs MoU with IBM to utilize AI in agriculture

  • IBM will undertake a pilot study to utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI) and weather technology solutions in agriculture.
  • The pilot study will be conducted for the Kharif crop season 2019 in three districts namely Bhopal, Rajkot and Nanded, in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, respectively.

  • NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog released its “Agricultural Marketing and Farmer Friendly Reforms Index” (AMFFRI) for the year 2019.
  • The main reason is to rank states and union territories based on the implementation of seven provisions proposed under the model Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) Act.
