Govt set up 713 Krishi Vigyan Kendras to double farmers’ income by 2022

  • The Government has set up 713 KrishiVigyanKendras and 684 Agricultural Technology Management Agencies at the district level in the country.
  • Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is set to use digital technology to modernize and organize agricultural activities in rural India.
  • Digital Technology, like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain Technology, Internet of Things, etc can play a transformational role in modernizing and organizing rural India performance in agricultural activities.

Civil Aviation Minister inaugurates Air Traffic Flow Management – Central Command Centre

  • Air Traffic Flow Management(ATFM) is inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri at VasantKunj in New Delhi.
  • The system is primarily meant to address the balancing of capacity against the demand to achieve optimum utilization of the major resources like airport, airspace and aircraft at every Indian airport where there is a capacity constraint.
  • It integrates flight data from various subsystems like Air Traffic Control ATC Automation System, flight s and flight messages.
  • The system also displays weather information along with static information about airports, airspaces and air routes.
  • It processes the demand and capacity information and provides decision-making tools to the ATFM Flow Manager for collaborative decision making and to ensure the regulated flow of traffic at each airport in India.

A water clinic for elephants opens on the banks of the Yamuna

  • India has opened its first specialised hydrotherapy treatment for elephants suffering from arthritis, joint pain and foot ailments in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The care centre runs in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department and the NGO Wildlife SOS.

PM Modi to attend 14th G20 Summit in Osaka on June 28th and 29th

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 14th G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan on 28th and 29th of June.
  • The theme of the summit is “Human-centred future society”.
  • Topics to be discussed in G20 Summit are food security, energy security, financial stability, terrorism-related issues, Innovation in the digital economy and artificial intelligence.
  • On the sidelines of the summit, PM Modi is likely to meet BRICS leaders and leaders of other groups. This includes Russia-India-China summit, Japan-America-India summit, meetings with PMs of Japan and Australia, presidents of Indonesia and France and German chancellor.
  • India will host G20 Summit in 2022 for the first time.

India, France decided to deepen cooperation in the cyber security sector

  • This Intergovernmental meeting co-chaired by Henri Verdier, French Ambassador for Digital affairs, and Upender Singh Rawat, Joint Secretary in charge of e-Governance, Information Technology and Cyber Diplomacy at the Ministry of External Affairs.
  • France and India reaffirmed their commitment to an open, reliable, secure, stable and peaceful cyberspace.

New Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court: Justice V Ramasubramanian

  • He was transferred to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh High Court with effect from April 27, 2016 and as Judge of Telangana High court.

Fernando Torres announces retirement from Football

  • Former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has announced his retirement from football.
  • The 35-year-old Spaniard scored 81 goals across four seasons with Liverpool and won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup with Chelsea.

Pranati Nayak wins bronze at Asian Artistic Gymnastic Championship

  • In Gymnastics, India’s PranatiNayak today clinched a bronze medal in vault event at the Senior Asian Artistic Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
  • The 23-year-old from West Bengal, who had qualified for vault finals with a sixth place, came up with a score of 13.384 to claim the bronze medal.
  • China’s Yu Linmin and Japan’s AyakaSakaguchi won the gold and silver medal at the event.
