  • Infosys announced the launch of its state-of-the-art Cyber Defence Center in Bucharest, Romania.
  • The Defence Center is an expansion of services delivered through Infosys Digital Innovation Center which opened in Bucharest.
  • They will provide end-to-end, real-time, 24/7 cyber security monitoring and protection services to support European and global businesses on their digital transformation journey.

Cabinet approves ISRO Technical Liaison Unit at Moscow

  • Cabinet has given approval for the setting up of ISRO Technical Liaison Unit (ITLU) at Moscow in Russia.
  • The unit will collaborate with Space agencies and industries in Russia and neighbouring countries for mutually synergetic outcomes.
  • ITLU will also support the ongoing bilateral programmes of cooperation in space technology and act on behalf of ISRO.
  • The Cabinet also approved MoU between ISRO and the Bolivian Space Agency on Cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

  • Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar launched redesigned dynamic website of publication divisionwww.publicationsdivision.nic.in
  • Objective: to provide realtime purchase facilities to book lovers. The website will provide the information about publication division’s books and journals.
  • All books are available on the website for sale.
  • The Minister also launched mobile app of the division namely Digital DPD to keep a check on possible piracy of e-books.
  • And he launched e-version of Rozgar Samachar and e-book Satyagraha Geeta.

Dharmendra Pradhan launches Atal Community Innovation Centre

  • Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched Atal Community Innovation Centre in New Delhi.
  • Objective: to encourage the spirit of innovation through solution-driven design thinking to serve society.
  • Atal Innovation Mission has a key role to perform in order to achieve the target of five trillion dollar economy by 2025.
  • The Atal Community Innovation Centre has been launched to focus on the 484 backward districts where the innovation infrastructure is very weak.

HRD Minister inaugurates Indian Air Force Facilitation-cum-Publicity Pavilion at National Bal Bhawan

  • Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank inaugurated Indian Air Force Facilitation-cum-Publicity Pavilion at National Bal Bhawan in New Delhi.
  • The Pavilion has been set up by Indian Air Force to motivate students to join the Indian Air Force.
  • India needs student volunteers who can be trained to serve the nation with integrity.

J&K: Governor approves operationalisation of 24×7 Free Ambulance Service

  • In Jammu and Kashmir, the Governor’s Administration has approved operationalisation of the 102-108 Toll-Free Ambulance Service in the state.
  • The State Government has decided to bring a fleet of 416 Ambulances under the ambit of this service.
  • It will be operationalised through a centralised Call Centre working on a 24×7 basis.
  • The project will be operational by 15 October 2019.
  • 102 Ambulance Service will provide free of cost service to the targeted population.

Maharashtra police to launch high-tech biometric scanning system

  • Maharashtra police is set to launch a high-tech biometric system.
  • This includes advanced face recognition technology to identify criminals and share the details with local, national and international agencies, including Interpol.
  • The new technology — Automated Multi-Modal Biometric Identification System (AMBIS) — was originally designed and developed by France and further improved and customised by experts in coordination with state Police Officers.

  • Indian cities Bangalore (Karnataka) and Delhi ranked 43rd (7th in Asia) and 50th (10th in Asia).
  • Delhi achieved the 26th rank globally and is improved in terms of the increasing availability of funding to women entrepreneur
  • San Francisco Bay Area topped the list.They secured 63.7 points It is followed by New York(62.9 points) and London(3rd ).

  • Anika bagged four medals in the championship, including the gold, two silver, and one bronze. Anika is a tenth standard student in the Avvaiyar government in Madurai.

IIT Madras introduces Smart agricopter for spraying pesticides

  • Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has developed a Smart agricopter.
  • The innovation aims to eliminate manual spraying of pesticides in agricultural fields.
  • As the manual pesticide spraying remains an extremely hazardous activity as it affects the health of the farmers’ and laborers’ in a massive overuse of toxic chemicals. The Cost estimation of the agricopter is to be around Rs 5.1 lakh.
  • The Smart Agricopter is a hexacopter drone with the capacity to carry 15 liters of pesticide. Agricopter will allow spraying pesticides ten times faster and with 100% precision.
