- The state-owned Bank of Baroda has launched its Agri digital platform Baroda Kisan.
- The Baroda Kisan platform can be accessed on mobiles by farmers.
- The web-based portal Baroda Kisan is expected to meet all the needs of farmers.
- It provides details including weather forecasts, crop conditions, the moisture levels of the soil, information on crop worms, market prices, special crop-related consultation
- The application will help farmers with inputs related to the purchase of different products such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural equipment on rent, consultancy services.
- It will also provide innovative financing options for the sale of agricultural products.
BOB has introduced two loan schemes.
1) A scheme for the construction and renovation of toilets as well as domestic drinking water facilities under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
2) Other loan schemes will help people with the construction of houses in rural areas.

Indian Railways installs first PET bottle crusher machine in Mumbai Rajdhani Express
- The Western Railway has installed a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle crushing machine in Mumbai Rajdhani Express for the first time ever.
- The PET bottle crusher machine was installed in the train under the Indian Railways’ Swachh Bharat and Go Green missions.
- The move also ties in with an impending ban of single-use plastic by the Centre.
- The installation of the PET bottle crusher is expected to reduce carbon footprints by 100% recycling.
- This will also avoid littering in landfill from bottle waste.
- To create awareness to the people about the ban on single-use plastic, the Western Railways has put up selfie points at Churchgate and Andheri stations.

- It will reduce human discretion in assessments and scrutiny.
- This will put an end to corruption by using new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, video conferencing, telecommunication application software and mobile applications.

Actor Govinda appointed as the brand ambassador of Madhya Pradesh
- Madhya Pradesh government will appoint filmstar Govinda as brand ambassador to promote the state’s traditions and tourist places.
- The focus is the state’s traditions and tourist destinations should reach the masses.
- The government also has plans to set up a film city in the state and plans to promote Madhya Pradesh as a destination for film making.

- The model code of conduct (MCC) has come into effect immediately with the announcement of the schedule.

- India is to join Bangladesh to commemorate 100 years of Bangabandhu, the founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in 2020.

- Navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh is on a four-day visit to Dhaka.
- His visit aims to further consolidate maritime cooperation between the two countries.
- He will also be holding discussions with his Bangladeshi counterpart Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury on other maritime and security issues.

Petronet LNG signs USD 7.5 billion deal with Tellurian Inc
- The state-run Petronet LNG signed an initial agreement with the U.S. liquefied natural gas developer Tellurian Inc.
- The deal was signed in Houston in the presence of PM Modi.
- Under the initial agreement the Indian company and its affiliates are to buy up to 5 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
- The estimated cost of the agreement is $7.5 billion.
- Currently, India is the sixth-largest buyer of US LNG.
- The Indian companies have invested $4 billion in US shale gas assets to source crude oil and LNG from the US.
- Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), India plans to reduce carbon emissions by 33-35% from its 2005 levels by 2030.

- The appointment comes after the proposal initiated by IndiGo’s co-promoter Rakesh Gangwal who demanded the appointment of an independent woman director in the airline’s board.

- Shondol is a famous dance, which artistes used to perform for the king of Ladakh.
- The event was held on the concluding day of the ongoing Buddhist carnival Naropa festival near the Hemis Monastery in Ladakh.
- As many as 408 women attired in traditional dresses and beautiful headgears performed the dance, which broke the previous record of 299 artists dance of Shondol in the 2018 festival.
