- HDFC Bank has announced the launch of “SmartHub Merchant Solutions 3.0” for Small and mid-size enterprises.
- This solution allows merchants and self-employed professionals to instantly open a current account and start accepting payments in-store, online, and on-the-go.
- The merchant solution was launched at a virtual event held in Mumbai by Parag Rao, Country Head – Payments, Consumer Finance, Marketing and Digital Banking at HDFC Bank along with T R Ramachandran, Group Country Manager, India and South Asia, Visa.

Moody’s projects India GDP for 2020 at -8.9%; 2021 forecast at 8.6%
- Rating Agency Moody has projected the GDP of India at -8.9% for the calendar year 2020. Earlier this was projected at -9.6%.
- Apart from this, India’s GDP growth for Calendar year 2021 is projected at 8.6% by Moody’s from 8.1% earlier.

CCEA grants Rs 8,000 crore rupees for continuation and revamping of Infrastructure Viability Gap Funding
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had approved the Continuation and Revamping of the Scheme for Financial Support to Public Private Partnership in Infrastructure Viability Gap Funding Scheme till 2024-25.
- The main objective of the scheme is to promote PPP (Public-Private Partnership) in social and economic infrastructure for proper operation and maintenance, for efficient creation of assets and make the socially essential projects commercially viable.
Paytm launches “Payout Links” for small businesses
- Paytm has launched “Payout Links” for businesses, enabling them to instantly process payouts to customers, employees and vendors, without collecting their bank details.
- It is aimed at helping small businesses in sectors like gaming, retail, export, manufacturing and e-commerce.
- Payout Links will allow businesses to send ‘incentives’ or refunds to the customers’ bank accounts or wallet accounts.
- It can be used for salary payments, vendor payments, commissions and incentive transfers to be done instantly.

Finance Minister announces Economic Stimulus Package 4.0
- The Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitaraman announced the Economic Stimulus Package 4.0.
- Production Linked Incentive Scheme for 10 sectors. Rs 1.46 trillion to be provided.
- Rs 6,940 crore scheme to promote manufacture of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients).
- Rs 18,000 crores allocated to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The implementation of the programme will generate 7.8 million jobs.

- Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate “Sarhad VistarVikasotsav 2020 “tomorrow at Dhordo village situated in the forward borderarea in Kutch district of Gujarat.
- “Sarhad Vistar Vikasotsav 2020” is aimed to address theproblems relating to health, education and road connectivity in remote and border villages, so that standard of living in such areas can be improved considerably.
Centre brings online news & other OTT Platforms like Netflix under purview of IB ministry
- The Government of India has issued an order on 11 November 2020, to bring video streaming over-the-top (OTT) platforms such as online films, audio-visual programmes and online news and current affairs content under the ambit of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- These platforms were so far under the purview of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
- Exercising the powers conferred by clause (3) of Article 77 of the Constitution, the President of India called for amended to the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961.
- These rules may be called the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Three Hundred and Fifty-Seventh Amendment Rules, 2020. They shall come into force at once.
Ministry of Textiles launches “Local4Diwali” campaign
- The Union Ministry of Textiles has launched a campaign for Diwali- “Local4Diwali”.
- The campaign has been launched to promote the Indian handicraft which is the cultural heritage of the country and also a source of livelihood for many.
- The main aim of the #Local4Diwali campaign is to urge people to buy and gift Indian handicraft products on this Diwali.
India received first shipment from Bangladesh through water route
- India has received the first commercial shipment from Bangladesh through water route on November 9, 2020.
- The shipment was received Assam’s Karimganj on the Protocol for Inland Water Trade and Transit (PIWTT) route.
- This is a step towards utilizing the inland waterway connectivity for trade and prosperity between both the countries.
- India and Bangladesh have a Protocol on Trade and Transit through inland waterways.
- The protocol was first signed in 1972 and renewed in 2015.

Hunar Haat resumes operation after 7 months gap due to COVID-19
- Hunar Haat has restarted from November 11 after a gap of around seven months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- To mark the beginning of operations, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurated ‘Hunar Haat’ at Delhi Haat, Pitampura.
- The Hunar Haat is being organized by the IITF, Pragati Maidan from November 11 to 22. The theme of this Hunar Haat is “Vocal for Local”.
- Naqvi also said that the Indian indigenous industry has seen an improvement PM Modi’s idea of “Vocal for Local”.
- This is also helping to strengthen the mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Centre mandates e-invoicing system for firms with turnover of Rs 100 cr or more from January 2021
- The government has made it mandatory for companies with annual turnover of Rs 100 crore and above to go for e-invoicing for business to companies (B2C) transactions.
- This new rule will be applicable from 01 January 2021.
- Currently, e-invoicing is mandatory for companies with annual turnover of at least Rs 500 crore.
- Under the system, companies will have to raise e-invoices through a unique invoice reference portal and generate the IRN (invoice reference number).

- Maharashtra will observe the National Unity Week from 19th to 25th of November.
- In order to increase social harmony in the state, everyone should participate in this programme.

- The Indian Navy launched the fifth Scorpene submarine “Vagir” at Mazagon Dock of south Mumbai.

- Vagir is a part of six Kalvari class submarine that is being built in India.

Bahrain’s Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa Al Khalifa, passes away at 84
- Bahrain’s Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa, has passed away. He was 84.
- Prince Khalifa was not only the longest serving PM of Bahrain, but he was the world’s longest-serving prime minister.
- He had held the post since independence in 1971.
- Bahrain is observing a week of official mourning, during which flags will be flown at half-mast.
