Clarification on Govt Ban on New Posts

Hello and welcome to ExamPundit. Loads of people are not clear about the Austerity Drive unveiled by Govt. of India. Moreover the sentence “Ban on New Posts, Old Vacancies” has created a stir among all.

So lets have a clear look at the thing. After a thorough research through every News Portal and possible news giving portals here is the conclusion.

The News States:  It said there will be a total ban on new posts and those that have remained vacant for more than a year will not be filled except “under very rare and unavoidable circumstances”.. Source – The Hindu.

So what does this exactly means? It is simple that the Govt won’t stop any Recruitment Examinations such as IBPS, SSC CGL and CHSL. However, there will be no “NEW Creation of Posts”. Which means, the posts which are vacated by retirement or death of any person can be filled up but no NEW Posts.

For eg. Department of XYZ has 10 Assistans. Now 4 Retired. So Govt won’t go higher than 4 posts for the time being. Earlier, it was like 4 retired govt used to issue 6-8 vacancies, but for the time being it won’t be.

On the other hand, Backlog Vacancies (Which are not filled up last year) won’t be filled up during this time.

So, the conclusion can be stated that NOTHING TO PANIC. EXAMS WILL BE HELD AND YOU ALL WILL BE RECRUITED IF CLEARED. ALL THE BEST.
