The Intelligence Bureau ACIO Exam Pattern has three stages and an aspirant needs to surpass each stage in order to emerge as an Assistant Central Intelligence Officer.

Note- For every incorrect response, a negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applicable.

IB ACIO Preparation Tips- Section wise Preparation
Reasoning Ability
  • This section comprises of 25 questions in total. There will be 1 mark for the correct answer whereas 0.25 marks will be deducted for an incorrect response.
  • The difficulty level and pattern of reasoning of IB ACIO is similar to the pattern of SSC CGL Tier 1 exam.
  • This section is mark fetching in nature. If you practice well, you can score well in this section.
  • If you have already prepared for reasoning section of SSC CGL Tier 1 exam, then you need to revise this section only.
  • If not, start preparing as per IB ACIO syllabus for reasoning section.
  • You need to focus more on the section of General Mental Ability.

Quantitative Aptitude

  • This section comprises of all total 25 questions and for each incorrect response, 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • The pattern of this section is again similar to SSC CGL Tier 1 exam but syllabus is different from SSC CGL tier 1.
  • Questions asked from this section are almost of moderate difficulty level every time.
  • You are advised to focus more on the Arithmetic Section.
  • You can skip the topic of advanced mathematics but you need to cover the topic of mensuration.
  • In the topic of Mensuration, you need to focus more on 2D diagrams.
  • Also 2-3 questions from Statistics and Probability are asked.

English Section

  • Approx. 25 questions will be asked from this section. The difficulty level of questions asked are almost similar to that of SSC CGL.
  • The number of questions asked is not final yet as the exam pattern has changed lately. But, the number of questions asked are expected to be same as that of SSC CGL.
  • Try to cover all topics from the syllabus and make sure you don’t skip any important topic.

General Awareness

In general awareness section, questions will not be asked directly. The questions asked in this section will be tricky.
Make sure you cover this section in depth. We recommend all our students to cover all parameters of each and every section.

  • Defence: Bilateral Agreement between India & Other Countries.
